Convert Your Galaxy Y's Gingerbread Version to Jellybean 4.1.1
To convert Ur galaxy y to jelly bean U have to first root ur phone.(Rooting is 100% safe).
To root ur phone First Install Update.zip and send that to ur Galaxy y. Then Go to Clockworld mod (By First switching off ur mobile, After it is switched off press Home key button+volume up button+Power button, all together). then
NOTE:This procedure is fully safe only if u follow it properly.
1.Click on "Install updates from SD".
2.Click on "update.zip".
3.Then click on "reboot now"
Now ur phone is rooted now u can follow following steps.
After UR phone is rooted u have to install "CWM.zip"
How to install CWM.zip
1.Go to boot menu (By First switching off ur mobile, After it is switched off press Home key button+volume up button+Power button, all together). Again click on 'install updates from sd card'.
2.After that click on 'install updates from sd card' then click on CWM.zip Then clear ur cache and wipe data.(VERY IMPORTANT)
3. similarly there will be a option 'install updates from sd card' there will b a similar option of install 'update.zip' dont click there, u may be confused but don't click there(VERY IMPORTANT)Then install jellyblast v3.zip, installing this will take some time. Then a menu will appear in that menu go to 'advance' or 'advance recovery' option ( if advance is not there then u can go back by pressing power button there advance recovery will be there.
4.after u click on advance Click on the first option then clear cache, wipe data then reboot.
5.After rebooting ur phone will automatically restart u have to wait for some time.
now u r running through jellybean.. enjoy.

DOWNLOAD THE FILE "UPDATE.ZIP" IN UR MOBILE . THIS IS AVAILABLE HERE, JUST CLICK THE DOWNLOAD BUTTON BELOW.
THEN OPEN UR BOOT MENU IN UR PHONE, BY PRESSING POWER BUTTON+VOLUME UP BUTTON AND HOME SCREEN BUTTON.
THERE WILL BE 4 OPTIONS
-REBOOT UR PHONE.
-UPDATE FROM SD CARD.
-CLEAR CACHE. ETC

CyanogenMod 9 for Galaxy Y – Installation Tutorial

Pre-Requisites
- Important: Completely Backup the data stored on your device using the Android ADB Backup Guide.
- Battery should be fully charged.
- Backup SMS messages, apn settings, Whatsapp messages, along with other important data stored on your device.
- Download: Samsung Galaxy Y Device Drivers.
Update Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 to Android 4.0.4 CyanogenMod 9 Firmware
Step #1: Download ICS CyanogenMod 9 ROM on your computer.
Step #2: Connect your Galaxy Y mobile phone to your computer and transfer the downloaded file to the root of your SD Card.
Step #3: Turn off your Galaxy Y now and boot into recovery mode. Press and hold “Volume UP + Home + Power Button” and wait for the device to boot.
Step #4: Select “wipe data/factory reset” and confirm by selecting Yes on next screen.
Step #5: Now, select “install zip from SD Card” and then “choose zip from SD Card”. Select the ROM file that we had transferred on the device.
Step #6: After the flashing of the file is complete, get back to the main recovery screen and select “reboot system now”.
That’s it. You’ve successfully updated your Galaxy Y device to Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 CyanogenMod 9.
